The Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan has stated that the biometric registration exercise which is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year would be done by zoning the country.

According him, the EC was considering various zoning options and would engage the political parties to secure consensus before any implementation.

The decision, he indicated, was informed by the fact that even though registration would be polling station-based, with 6,500 registration kits, it was obvious that the EC could not carry out registration in all the projected 23,000 polling stations …
