THE last time Jack Hobbs started a game at the City Ground, he was part of a Leicester City side demolished 5-1 by Nottingham Forest in December 2009.

The story could not have been more different for Hull City's influential defender on Saturday, though, as he helped set the platform for another valuable win.

In a performance befitting a captain, Hobbs barely put a foot out of place to snuff out the threat of Forest.

"He's got the armband and he's played like a captain," said manager Nigel Pearson, perhaps Hobbs's biggest fan.
