BRISTOL Rovers boss Paul Buckle claims the decision to transfer-list long-serving midfielder Stuart Campbell came after "an ultimatum" from the player's agent.

The manager said Campbell failed to accept the offer of a coaching role at the club and made it clear the 33-year-old, whose playing contract expires at the end of this season, will not be offered a new one in the immediate future.

The Evening Post revealed last week that Campbell's details have been circulated to other clubs, although the former skipper and player-boss says he has not asked for a move from the Pirates.
