Text of report by Aggrey Mutambo entitled "Raila blames AU for Africa's woes" published by Kenyan privately-owned newspaper Daily Nation website on 31 October

Prime Minister [PM] Raila Odinga has accused the African Union [AU] of failing to solve problems facing the continent, giving room to the West to intervene.

Mr Odinga told an AU conference on Sunday [30 October] that it would be pretentious to accuse the West of meddling in African affairs when those in charge have failed to secure their sovereignty.

"Let us not blame foreigners, let us blame ourselves for failing to deal with African problems instead allowing others to offer solutions for us."
