Nigeria - NCC issues service ultimatum to mobile operators.

The Nigerian Communications Commission has issued a 30-day ultimatum to three major mobile operators to improve the quality of the services offered subscribers or risk serious sanctions. According to the NCC, if MTN Nigeria, Globacom Nigeria and Airtel Nigeria fail to meet the set standards, they may be barred from selling new Sim cards. NCC's Head of Media and Public Relations, Reuben Muoka, confirmed that the three operators had been given a 30-day deadline effective from 1 November to reverse the trend of poor quality of services. He said the deadline followed a dismal performance by the three operators on quality of service from the result of an independent monitoring exercise …
