Manila: Malacanang yesterday welcomed Libya's democracy as the world watched how 42 years of pent-up anger drove Libyans to attack, humiliate and kill their leader, Moammar Gadhafi.

President Aquino earlier said the "Philippines could have been like Libya if the peaceful EDSA People Power revolution did not happen 25 years ago. The people power in 1986 brought democracy to the Philippines.
