Two years ago some of our residential treatment clients at Stepping Stone of San Diego approached the staff with a question. Are there anything else besides Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings available, and, if so, could the alternatives be added to the array of in-house groups and community meetings that they are expected to attend?

In response, we invited a local psychologist, Tom Horvath, to visit and explain how SMART Recovery worked.
