With temperatures predicted to soar this weekend and thousands of families heading for sunshine hotspots, the Highways Agency is urging people not to forget its summer travel advice.

Motorways and main roads heading to the beaches are likely to be busier than usual over the weekend, and families are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey -- as well as to be prepared with drinks to cool off during the journey.

"Lots of people will be wanting to make the most of this hot weather, so they should prepare for their journey so tempers don't boil over too," says head of the Highways Agency …
