Inverness roadworks postponed.

Major roadworks at a busy Inverness junction have been postponed by a week, contractors revealed yesterday.

The work to add an extra lane to the Inshes slip road was due to start on Monday.

But a last-minute hitch with the plans means they will not begin until October 10.

It is hoped the 20-week scheme will stop vehicles getting stuck in long queues on the A9 Inverness-Perth trunk road.

The project is part of a package of improvements required after Asda won permission for a new supermarket at Slackbuie.
