A NORTH-EAST man who pulled out of a deal to buy three plots of land has been told to pay compensation.

Alistair Greig, of Invercairn House at Cairnbulg, near Fraserburgh, agreed to buy part of the Park Development in Aberdeen from Lorimer Homes in 2008.

He instructed his solicitors KWAD to issue three acceptance letters to the seller's lawyers, Gavin Bain and Co, who wrote back to formally confirm the agreement.

Despite being contractually bound Mr Greig failed to complete the purchases, however, which meant the plots had to be resold.
