Australia have put their World Cup back on track, with an 11-try-to-one defeat of USA -- including the softest of second-half hat-tricks for Adam Ashley-Cooper -- to partially offset that surprise defeat by Ireland in Auckland last weekend.

What their coach, Robbie Deans, will have learned from such a one-side affair only he can say and he might have yet more difficult injuries on his hands, Pat McCabe damaging his shoulder halfway through the second half when all the bench had been used up, then Anthony Faingaa being taken off on a stretcher at the whistle.
