When higher education in a country is politicised, something is seriously wrong with the system. When will we learn that education is something that cannot be toyed with?

WHY can't we just leave our academicians to run local public universities the way they know best? After all, isn't that what they are trained to do anyway?

The recent debate and allegations over the so-called 'large' number of resignations the last three years from Universiti Malaya (UM) is just an example of how much things have gone wrong in our public universities.
