Automatic examination of optical security features.(Examination Methods)

Computer Holography Center Ltd (CHC), run by Prof Alex Goncharsky and Dr Anton Goncharsky and based at Moscow University, has introduced a handheld device for the examination of holograms with a covert laser read able (CLR) image, a type of hologram that the Center excels at originating us ing its e-beam writer.

Prof Goncharsky argues that the requirements for machine authentication of optical security features are reliable 'friend or foe' identification; strong protection against counterfeiting and ease of use.
