There are fears of a further financial credit crunch and growth slowdown. Media across the world is showing a somewhat surprising knowledge of 1980s New Wave pop music, and questioning whether we are all "Turning Japanese?" Fears of another financial credit crunch are probably overdone. There may be problems, but policy makers have the tools and the knowledge to prevent us from replaying the full horrors that followed the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. But that does not mean we can relax. There is a potentially far worse credit crunch impacting the world economy -- an environmental credit crunch.
