Water Shortage Hits Hoima.

Despite the ongoing heavy rains that have caused floods and severe destruction in several parts of the country, communities in Hoima District still have difficulty accessing safe water for drinking and other domestic use.

People living along the Albertine Rift Valley have been hit hardest, including residents of Kigorobya and parts of Hoima Municipality. The district gets an average of 1,000 mm of rainfall, with two heavy rain seasons running between March-May and August-November, but many families are still crying of water scarcity.
