Sept. 13--It was always easy to locate Summer Esseff in her childhood class photos.
She was the girl on the top row standing in the very center.
The annual portraits painted a clear picture of what sport Esseff might pursue in life.
"I was always like a foot taller than everybody else, and everybody was always telling me I should play volleyball," Esseff said. "I really didn't understand why people would say anything about my height and why everyone was laughing because I was so young. It's always been like a joke, 'Wow. You are a giant.' "
