Sept. 11--DESTIN -- A fire damaged a condominium Saturday evening while the group renting it was at a beach wedding nearby. The fire at the three-story condo at 76 Shirah Street started in the first-floor kitchen and was reported at 6:50 p.m. Freeport resident Tia Reed, a bridesmaid, said her son came to the beach where the wedding party was posing for photographs screaming that the building was on fire.

Firefighters from Destin, South Walton and North Bay had the blaze extinguished in less than an hour, said Destin Fire Chief Kevin Sasser.

No one was hurt. Fire and smoke caused an estimated $70,000 to $100,000 …
