No lisdexamfetamine effect on sleep disturbances in children with ADHD.(What's New In Research)

Short-term treatment with lisdexamfetamine dimesylate (LDX; Vyvanse) does not appear to contribute to any sleep disturbances in young children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to the results of a small pilot study. The authors write that, to the best of their knowledge, "this is the first randomized controlled trial to assess the effects of LDX on sleep characteristics in children with ADHD."

Relatively few studies have examined the effects of ADHD medications on sleep in children with ADHD, and most studies have focused on evaluating the effects of long-acting stimulants.
