Sept. 08--Perusing the latest USTA Southern California junior rankings reveals a respectable number of Ventura County players well positioned in many of the various age divisions. Upon closer inspection, those rankings also show many area players in the girls 15- to 18-year-old range doing exceptionally well. For top juniors, the vast majority of their practice and tournament play comes in singles. Occasionally, when entered in the same tournament, several area players will partner together in the doubles.
