Drug overdose deaths in Florida increased by 61 percent between 2003 and 2009, from 1,804 to 2,905, according to an analysis of medical examiner data published in the July 8 issue of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
