Councils cut costs by sharing consultant.

THE four councils in the Bristol area are hoping to save money by using the same transport consultant over the next four years.

Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City Council, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils have joined forces and appointed a single "term consultant".

The four councils have agreed to a deal to work with Halcrow Group.

Bristol City Council set up the shared support, with a joint co-signatory agreement from the other authorities, with the aim of cutting costs and improving links across the region.
