An ultimatum issued by Nwoya District council for the Balaalo pastoralists to leave the district voluntarily expired yesterday. District officials, who last week gave a five-day notice, warned of forcible eviction if the Balaalo do not heed the ultimatum.
The ultimatum follows continued complaints from the locals demanding that they leave the area. The deadline expired over the weekend, beyond which the pastoralists will have their animals seized.
