Aug. 30--Scorching temperatures and stagnant winds have combined to create potentially unsafe pollution levels in the Memphis area today.

The Shelby County Health Department issued a Code Orange advisory for this evening after a spike in ozone-pollution levels. The advisory, which means pollution could be harmful for the elderly, small children and people with existing respiratory problems, …
