Aug. 29--Second in a two-part series. The first installment appeared Sunday. Had Corinne Dietrich been in a seventh-grade science class in the Erie School District several years ago, she might have read about the worm in a textbook. Instead, she got up close and personal with it last school year, measuring its length and examining its movement under a microscope. She and her classmates also incubated chick eggs, recording the temperature and humidity in the incubator until the eggs hatched. Science "is really boring when all you do is read," said the 13-year-old, who will start her eighth-grade year at Erie's Wilson Middle School today.
