from ANTARA, The Indonesian National News Agency Jakarta, Aug 13 (ANTARA) - Around 70 edifices have signed up to be certified as environmentally-friendly buildings, Green Building Council of Indonesia (GBCI) Chairman Naning Adiwoso said here on Friday.

"Of 70 buildings that have signed up, 30 are in the process of certification," Naning said after Environment Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta launched an environmentally-friendly building certification system in Jakarta.

The Green Building Council of Indonesia was appointed by the Environment Ministry to be the first environmentally-friendly buildings institute in Indonesia.
