South Africa has a ticking time bomb that can explode at any time and consign all of us to kingdom come - the staggering 2.8-million 18-to-24-year-olds who are not in school, are unemployed and are without any skills.

They were revealed in research undertaken by the World Bank. Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande has traversed the country exhorting his compatriots to suggest solutions and partner with his department to avoid what could be a calamity.
