ENERGY giant Drax has given a firm statement to Government that it is "ready to expand renewable capacity significantly with appropriate incentives," as it revealed its half year results yesterday.

The company, behind a proposal to build a huge biomass-fuelled power plant at Immingham, reported a year-on-year increase in profits for the first half of the year, up three per cent from GBP184-million to GBP190-million.
