JUBA - The Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), which became the official army of the newly established state of South Sudan, welcomes on Wednesday [3 August] cessation of hostilities with rebel group. The regular army made pronouncement welcoming cessation of hostilities with rebel group following the spread of news in the capital of South Sudan's Juba alleging presence of rebel leader in the town. Rumours speculating presence of Peter Gadet Yak who defected from the South Sudan Army to form his own independent rebel group, against the government of south Sudan, filled main streets of capital Juba and began to spread like a wild fire, prompting authorities to reveal that the government had reached an understanding with the rebel to end hostilities …
