Barbey named president of Reading Eagle Company.
Aug. 04--Reading Eagle Company announced Wednesday that Peter D. Barbey has been named president and chief executive officer. Barbey replaces William S. Flippin as president. Flippin, 70, of Wyomissing has been named chairman of the board and will continue as publisher and board member. The moves were effective Wednesday. Barbey, 54, will be responsible for management and implementation of the strategic directives of the company, which publishes the Reading Eagle newspaper and operates WEEU 830 AM radio station, readingeagle.com, Reading Eagle Internet Services and Reading Eagle Press, a commercial printing facility.
