A number of retired soldiers are positioning themselves to win the right to represent ZANU-PF here in the next harmonised elections in the first clearest sign yet of the increasing role being played by the former military personnel in national politics. Several retired army officers have hit the campaign trail in various constituencies, setting the stage for bruising encounters with sitting ZANU-PF legislators, both in the lower and upper houses of the bicameral Parliament.
