Five police and two civilians have been injured in a bomb attack at a tea shop in Pattani's Mae Lan district, and two military ranger volunteers were wounded in a landmine trap in a different district of the same province.

The first incident took place in the pre-dawn hours yesterday. Police said they were alerted at 7am.

A couple of attackers riding on a motorcycle threw a grenade at seven people who were drinking tea at a shop owned by Pol Sen Sgt Maj Wiraphong Pomsakun of the Mae Lan district police station, said the victims.
