Weld police agencies agree to unified chase policy.

July 31--Every police agency in Weld County is now working from the same set of rules for police chases that wander into neighboring jurisdictions.

It's not that the agencies never were -- they just hadn't taken the time to review and sign off on the guidelines in more than 10 years, leaving the door open for mistakes.

For the past two months, a committee of law enforcement officials has worked to update and clarify language in its basic rule book for how agencies will handle police chases outside of their own jurisdictions.
