July 27--PANAMA CITY BEACH -- A Panama City Beach Police officer has resigned after being arrested and charged July 21 with driving under the influence has resigned.

Cpl. David Walker, 29, submitted his resignation effective Monday before speaking with investigators, according to a news release from Beach Police Chief Robert Harding issued Wednesday morning. Walker, a seven-year veteran of the force, had been on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, officials wrote.
