A DOCTOR who grew suspicious of two conmen secretly recorded their sales pitch providing vital evidence to send them to jail.

Dr John Cormack of Greenwood Surgery in South Woodham Ferrers was one of many victims, including schools and businesses, who was duped into changing their phone system.

The crooks, who claimed they were working for BT, insisted that their victims needed to unnecessarily change their phone equipment from analogue to digital and that it would cost them nothing.

But the reality for firms - many of whom now owe upwards of GBP20,000 - was that they were in fact tied …
