July 20--College football Top 25 projections for the upcoming season are beginning to come into focus, although The Associated Press preseason poll is as far away as activated school zones.

Thus far, Florida State is poised in the minds of more than a few to return to prominence. Various publications such as Athlon, Lindy's, Phil Steele and Sporting News have slotted the Seminoles anywhere from Nos. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 on a national scale entering this season.

That's a major advance from the 15-25 range where FSU was demoted, and belonged in recent years. It also represents the most reason for optimism in Tallahassee since government …
