BRIEF: WinCo gets OK to move into former Mervyns store in Ventura.

July 19--WinCo Foods won final clearance Monday night to open a grocery store at the former Mervyns on Telephone Road in Ventura. By unanimous vote, the Ventura City Council finalized its earlier denial of an appeal of a March decision by the city's Design Review Committee. That will allow WinCo to make some changes to the building at 4750 Telephone Road before moving in. The council last month endorsed the action, but Monday's vote finalized the legal language in a formal resolution.
