The much talked about Big Society launched by Prime Minister David Cameron over a year ago, and since relaunched a number of times, is nothing but a mirage designed to camouflage the massive pain of huge spending cuts. Despite all efforts by the Prime Minister and his colleagues, they have failed to provide any substance within this great hollow idea. During the 1980s Margaret Thatcher said that there was no such thing as society. Most people have been intrigued by her statement which was summarily dismissive of the very existence of society in Britain.
