July 02--On the opening day of free agency, the Blues brought back one of their own in Matt D'Agostini, and they made a move that ensures another one of their own, Ben Bishop, will get a chance to battle for an NHL job. The Blues locked up D'Agostini with a two-year, $3.3 million contract extension. The team then added goaltender Brian Elliott on a one-year contract, but it is a two-way deal, which means that Elliott will be paid $600,000 in the NHL and $105,000 if he's assigned to the club's American Hockey League affiliate.
