Ex-New Forces chief says situation in Cote d'Ivoire slowly "returning to normal".

Text of report by UN Mission in Cote d'Ivoire radio ONUCI FM on 29 June

[Presenter] A tripartite meeting of the generals of the FRCI [Republican Forces of Cote d'Ivoire], the UN forces, and Operation Unicorn took place today. After the deliberations, Gen Soumaila Bakayoko, the chief of defence staff of the former FAFN [Armed Forces of the New Forces], stated that the security situation is gradually returning to normal. Let us listen to him.

[Bakayoko] We came to Sebroko [the headquarters of the UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire] this morning for the tripartite meeting of the forces present in Cote d'Ivoire and naturally, we again discussed the problems of security.
