Parliament yesterday questioned the 2011/12 budget figures and rejected government's Shs2.8 trillion request for emergency spending.
Shadow Finance Minister Geoffrey Ekanya and several other MPs across the political divide objected to the government request and accused officials in the Ministry of Finance of "supplying air" in the budget. "There are serious gaps. Some institutions have not been given money for wages and the budget is not balancing," Mr Ekanya said.
