With the vertical gardening movement heading into full swing, a Bay Area design team in California is hoping to move the concept indoors.

Beau Oyler and Jared Aller, partners in Enlisted Designs in Oakland, and Tim Cui of Volare Studio, have created Urbio, the first-of-its-kind planting system for indoors.

The planters, which come in varying sizes and have two strong magnets on the back that allow them to be attached to a metal plate or any metal surface, were designed out of a need. Oyler, who lives in Walnut Creek, Calif., says he is a gardener at heart, but in recent years his gardening efforts have been stymied by lack of space.
