June 28--FORT WALTON BEACH -- A local man was charged with murder Sunday night in the death of his girlfriend. Benjamin George Inman is accused of killing 34-year-old Tammy Lynn Shields on Sunday after the two had an argument. "What we think at this time is that there was an argument over money," said Rick Hord, public information officer with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department. "He wanted, apparently, to buy drugs and he hit her on the head and strangled her."
