The mayor of a Westcountry market town has spoken of his concerns over the uncertain future of CCTV coverage across South East Cornwall.
Liskeard mayor Nick Mallard said he fears crime could rise unless the funding crisis involving the camera network is resolved.
Mr Mallard said South East Cornwall's CCTV was no longer being staffed 24 hours a day and Liskeard Town Council was unsure where it stood in securing the town's surveillance scheme after this financial year.
Mr Mallard said Liskeard had budgeted for the current year and expected to receive the service.
