Scotland's public spending watchdog has refused to investigate Highland Council's role in bailing out a housing project, despite its failure to sell most of the new luxury properties it showcased.

In all, 52 'green homes' were built for last year's Highland Housing Fair -- or Scotland's Housing Expo, as it was rebranded after a series of financial embarrassments.

It is understood that most, if not all, of the 22 'social housing' properties are occupied, but 27 of the 30 homes built at the Balvonie Braes site for sale on the open market were unsold, according to the Highland Housing Alliance …
