Youth leaders have rejected a new government plan that seeks to put Shs44.5 billion for job creation in the hands of private players. They have also demanded accountability for the Shs6 billion allocated in the previous budget for the unemployed youth.

Addressing a joint news conference at Parliament yesterday, youth MPs and their National Youth Council (NYC) Chairman, Mr Samuel Kavuma, rejected plans to have Dfcu Bank and Enterprise Uganda run the Youth Entrepreneurship Venture Capital Funds asset in the 2011/12 budget. They have demanded that the money be given to NYC for proper management and easy accessibility.
