When Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka read the national budget recently, it sounded pro-people, but the story is different in Mayuge District.

Residents of Mayuge District have vowed to demonstrate next week against the manner in which the government has sidelined their priorities in the national budget.

They are bitter that the government has not listed the much-anticipated tarmacking of the Musita-Lumino Road in Mayuge to Majanji in Namayingo District, even after President Museveni pledged on numerous occasions that the road will be tarmacked.
