The government has cancelled the controversial give-away of Hoima Boma grounds to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for expansion.

The Permanent Secretary ministry of Lands, Mr Gabindadde Musoke, on May 30, wrote to the Hoima Municipal Council Town Clerk, Mr Amir Nsamo, to ensure the playground is protected. "This is therefore to ask you to ensure that Boma grounds be left intact as a public open space," Mr Musoke said in a letter copied to the second deputy premier, Mr Henry Muganwa Kajura.
