from THE JAKARTA POST -- WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 2011 The Bali Agriculture and Food Agency is supporting seven farmers' groups under the integrated agricultural system (Simantri) to establish their farming areas as ecotourism destinations.
"For the first phase of this program, we are assisting five Simantri groups," agency head Made Putra Suryawan said on the sidelines of the launch of the Healthy Food Healthy Living program recently.
The five Simantri groups are located in three different regencies: Karangasem, Buleleng and Gianyar.
"While identifying their potential in ecotourism, we are assisting them in developing this project," Suryawan said.
