It is now a month and two weeks since the police and army besieged Mbale's Friends of Nature, a business centre on Mbale-Pallisa Road, and stopped all businesses in and around the premises.

Whereas the security agencies maintain that people who led the demonstration in Mbale and burnt vehicles in protest against the brutal arrest of Dr. Kizza Besigye emerged from the business centre, the residents say it is a political move to dislodge the FDC LC3 chairman for Industrial Division, who owns the centre.
