Police Block Opposition Rally.

The Police on Thursday afternoon blocked a rally that had been organized by Free Uganda Now, a new pressure group formed by three opposition political parties.

Uganda People's Congress (UPC), Democratic Party (DP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) formed the pressure group that advocates for free and fair elections. The leaders of these parties were slated to address a rally at Nsambya play grounds at noon but the police cordoned off Uganda House, the headquarters of UPC were Mr Olara Otunnu, Mr Matthias Nsubuga and Mr Mike Mabike among others.

But at 1:45 pm, youth donned in red T-shirts with words inscribed on Free Uganda Now …
